DIRECT TO GARMENT
WHAT IS DTG PRINTING
Direct to Garment (DTG) Printing is a method of apparel decoration where your logo or design is printed directly onto the garment using a special printer equipped with high quality inks formulated for textiles. There is no need to worry about how many colors are in your design, like screen printing.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
DTG is best suited for ordering low quantities or where your multi-color design has extreme detail. The inks used are specifically formulated for printing onto fabrics. The end result is a nice, vibrant print leaving a really soft feel.
Any fabric can be printed using DTG technology. For best results, we highly recommend selecting 100% cotton apparel. This includes t-shirts, hoodies, sweat shirts, pants, shorts as well as accessories such as bags – just to name a few.
Follow these steps below to submit artwork for DTG Printing:
- Use a professional design program such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or Corel Draw to create your designs in RGB color mode.
- Artwork must be a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, transparent background and scaled to size (the size to be printed).
- Convert all text/fonts to smart objects or shapes.
- Submit high resolution artwork in PSD Format (we will also accept PNG, JPEG, PDF formats).
Download Photoshop Templates if needed.
Note: We do not accept BMP or low quality images taken from the internet. As a rule – quality artwork yields a quality print. So take the time and invest in creating your artwork in hi-resolution.
If you do not have a hi-resolution design, we offer design service for a fraction of what other screen printers would charge. There is a lot of work that goes into creating an amazing design so pricing will depend on the complexity of your request.
To keep your decorated garments looking their best and last wash after wash, we recommend the following care instructions:
- Wait at least 24 hours before first wash. We suggest washing your DTG printed garment before wearing.
- Wash inside out in cold/warm water set to normal wash cycle. The use of chlorine bleach is not recommended for any type of garment, especially decorated apparel.
- Hang to dry or in automatic dryer at low setting.
After you receive your online quote and payment has been made, your order is moved into the design phase. Here is where our design team works on your logo. If you submitted hi-resolution artwork, we ensure it meets our quality standards to achieve the best print possible. If we are creating a logo, you will work with our designers to bring your creative ideas to life.
From there, you will receive an online proof of your design. We allow up to two (2) revisions without any additional charge. Once you approve the design, it’s off to production. Our production time is generally 7-10 business days – however, we strive to complete orders well within that time frame.
The pricing listed is for the print only.
The cost of the garment is added to the print cost. Printing area is a maximum 14″x16″ full color print.
SECOND IMPRINT LOCATION
For a second print location (example: back of garment), pricing is 50% of the initial print cost.
Please note: pricing is for customer supplied hi-resolution, production ready artwork. If you require us to create your design, artwork charges apply.
